Initial thoughts were that the firearm felt cheaply made, but I have several FN Firearms, so I know that must not be correct. I broke the firearm down to lubricate it and clean it. I noticed that the slide spring was pretty weak and easily compressed, but with this firearm being a .22 LR that is not that surprising. The different mounting plates for an optic really was a solid decision. So when I pulled mine out of its box I put an optic on it as well as a Surefire X300 Light. It fit into my holsters for my FN 509 Tactical. The trigger is scary light and you don’t want to touch it, unless you want it going off. For it being a .22 lr it is one of nicer plinkers out there. I guess I was expecting more from an FN Firearm, no matter the caliber. The price is unreasonable and blown out of proportion and magazines are extremely hard to find and if you are lucky and find some you will pay a premium for them. They are going for about $50 each is what I have found lately. It comes with 1 10 round magazine and one 15 round magazine. I purchased this firearm, so I could spend more time on the range instead of working to pay for my 9mm habit and it will do that job great. If you want a good plinker and something that is easy on the wallet, then I would recommend giving the 502 a try.
