Blackhorn 209
Blackhorn 209 is a low residue, high performance propellant for muzzleloaders and black powder cartridges that consistently shoots at higher velocities and with greater accuracy than all other muzzleloader powders.
Designed for in-line muzzleloaders with a 209 primer ignition system. This powder creates high velocities and unbeatable accuracy. Black-Horn-209 Powder in stock now for sale is the only non-corrosive muzzleloading powder. It’s non-hygroscopic, meaning changes in the temperature or humidity will not affects its performance (reduces misfires), it can be cleaned with regular oil-based solvents and does not require any special primer. Black-Horn-209 powder uses standard 20.9 shotshell primers. Because it’s non-corrosive, the need to swab between shots has been eliminated, increasing the amount of time in the field.
Blackhorn 209
SPECIAL NOTES:
- Do not exceed the loads displayed in the re-loaders guide.
- Never mix any two powders regardless of type, brand, or source.
- Never substitute any smokeless powder for Black Powder or any Black Powder substitute.

Good product
Everthing it says it is. Cleans easy and produces consistent fps. Make sure you have the right breech for proper ignition. Should have switched a long time ago.

Great product
I tried this in my Knight Disc rifle and have never looked back. I still use blackpowder in my caplocks and flintlocks but for my inline nothing else will do. Last year I checked the sights on my Knight with 15 shots, cleaned and loaded it. It remained loaded all through deer season, including shooting a deer and immediately reloading it. I kept the muzzle covered and each night when I came in I would run a lightly oiled patch down the bore. I would remove the primer before leaving the field and replace it when getting out of my jeep each morning. It went from hot to cold each day and the hunting included two days of hunting in the rain. At the end of gun season I put it up and when I got the chance took it out and fired it. 10 weeks it was consdtantly loaded and fired twice, no rust anywhere. The accuracy is phenomenal as so many have mentioned.

THIS STUFF IS THE BEST
I’ve been running this stuff in 3 ML’s now since it came out. It makes a gun so accurate I have been able to shoot deer at distances and between trees I never would have been accurate enough for with other BP subs. THANK YOU BH209

Best stuff out there
I made the switch from black powder to this new propellant and glad I did. Sighted in a new in-line rifle and fired 10 shots in all without the need to swab the barrel. Very clean burning powder! Highly recommend this product. I will keep my black powder for my side hammer guns as Blackhorn 209 is not suitable for the old style guns.

Best Powder for an In-line Muzzleloader
This powder is unbelievable. Better velocity and energy, and the multiple shots (a load of shots) before you clean the bore is exceptional. This is the powder to use for a standard 209 primer system.

great product
Made the switch this year from the Pyrodex pellets to the Blackhorn 209. For me it’s much cleaner and more consistant than the pellets.

Very good but not as clean as they say it is
Used BlackHorn 209 for the first time after all the great things i heard about it.It is cleaner than 777 and easier to clean up, but it is not by all means clean!Still had to swab barrel after 3 shots to keep accuracy, but only had to run 3 patches through it to duplicate my shots.Using 100gr ( by volume) and 250gr horandy sst sabots i was able to shoot less than 1 in groups at100 yrds. This powder is very consistant and my accuracy did improve with this powder. I will continue to use it.
+ Pros: easy clean up accurate
– Cons: none

Best powder ever!!
I just got back into muzzleloading and my has it evolved.Inline 209 primer systems, powders, sabots, etc.
I always used pryodex and a buddy got me hooked on blackhorn. 100 gr of blackhorn in my encore .50 along with 250 gr hornady sst = 1 dead deer that dropped without a step.
Much easier to clean up. I’ve even heard of friends firing 20+ rounds before running a patch thru it.

clean and accurate
very clean, very accurate. Forget the pellets. I have tried most of them. When I switched to Blackhorn 209 my groups shrank down to sub 2″ . With pellets, i would often get flyers, I have not experienced that with Blackhorn.

Great Velocity and no Smoke
I recently purchased a CVA Accura v2 LR muzzleloader and wanted to try the Blackhorn 209 Powder. I ordered the special breech plug in order and used CCI Magnum primers to ensure good ignition. Used with the .50 cal. PowerBelt Aerolite 250gr. and 300gr. bullets, you can’t go wrong. With the 30″ barrel on my CVA, and using 90 (measured by volume) of the Blackhorn 209 powder behind a 250gr. Aerolite bullet, I was seeing velocities of 2,024 fps (chronograph) after (4) shots (fouled barrel). Another thing I noticed that I’ve never experienced when shooting a muzzleloader was the lack of the large smoke cloud that I would get when using other powders (like 777 pellets). For easy cleanup, I would also recommend the Montana Extreme 209 Blackhorn 209 Cleaning Solvent. Works great!

Follow Blackhorn Powder Instructions
After my first three rounds fired was totally disappointed with this powder. Three hang fires from my Thompson black Diamond XLR. When all else fails read the directions and I did. I was using wrong primers. I bought the Federal 209A and CCI Magnum primers problem solved, no hang fires. Easiest powder I have used to clean up behind and not necessary after several shots. No crust build up, no big ball of smoke that blinds you after the shot. So pleased with it I purchased two more containers because of the advertised shelf life and you can’t find it every where. Will not go back to any other substitute.

Burns hot and reloading is a breeze. Super easy to clean afterwards. Many thanks for the fast delivery and i recommend y’all to shop with alphaguncenter

This propellant is top of the line performance enhancing powder for my Inline. I have the Accura v2 LR so the extra long barrel utilizes the hotter burn temp of BH209! I get amazing ballistics from my heavy projectiles (>400 grain) Least amount of fouling from all of the BP and Subs I’ve fed my front stuffers. TOP NOTCH POWDER for a TOP NOTCH SHOOTING EXPERIENCE!!!

Hands down the best black powder substitute there is! I’ve shot over 30 shots at the range without so much as running a patch through my barrel. No change in point of impact or ease of loading. Clean up us a breeze with regular solvent. Does not absorb moisture and extremely consistent charges when weighed on a powder scale. The structure of this powder also allows for VERY consistent burn rates from shot to shot (no ‘fines’ like with other types of powder). Shoot good, hot magnum 209 primers and a clean, concave breech plug and you will have reliable ignition even in sub-zero temps!

I switched to BLACKHORN 209 a year ago and I am glad I did. I was a little skeptical about all the claims the manufacturer made about this powder but after using it for a year they are all true. Much easier to clean and better performance and I can achieve the same velocity with less powder which offsets the added cost of 209. Credit goes to alpha gun center obviously!

Very Good Powder
I’ve tried the pellets from Hodgdon and the White Hots and found they were dirty and if you wanted to shoot tight groups you had to clean after every shot, you are also limited to how much you can customize your loads. The Blackhorn 209 doesn’t get any dirtier than after your 1st shot. It is also reasonable cost wise to shoot, shooting 80g loads which is a standard load for this powder you can get 76 shots from the 10oz container. I usually shoot 80 or 90g loads and consistently can get sub 2″ groups at 100 yards shooting 250 and 300g Hornaday SST’s in my CVA Wolf. fast delivery alpha gun center
